Tonight I took a deep dive into common tasks performed in both Windows and Linux operating systems. I have created a virtual box with Ubuntu to practice Linux related commands. Following Google’s Operating Systems and You: Becoming a Power User course, I learned basic commands for navigating, creating, deleting and modifying directories using both the GUI and Windows PowerShell in Windows. I also learned to do the same through Terminal in Linux. Next, I progressed to locating, moving, deleting and modifying files on both systems. After a quick break from studying to play with my doggo, Blu, I continued on by learning about Users and Permissions on both systems. I’m finding it necessary to keep a cheat sheet to keep up with all the commands and aliases. Someday I’m sure they will all be second nature!
